Welcome Aboard, LLC - Boston Live-Aboard Boats - Cozy, Comfortable with Modern Amenities
Forget looking at the harbor, stay ON it! The coolest way to visit Boston, staying on a boat.
2BR Spacious Yacht - Heat & AC- On Freedom Trail
About
The coolest way to stay in Boston: not a water view — you're ON the water. Carpe Diem II is a yacht in Charlestown Navy Yard with 2 queen staterooms, each with a private bathroom and shower, for up to 4 adults. Fall asleep to the harbor rocking you, have dinner and cocktails on the aft deck as boats cruise past, and stay comfortable with central A/C and heat. The Freedom Trail, North End, and Downtown are steps away. Hotels have views. You'll have the harbor.
Good to know
Step aboard the Carpe Diem II and be welcomed by her aft deck, inviting you to sit and relax, and engage in great conversation. Move to the fly-bridge for a 360° view of the marina and harbor. Heading inside, the main salon offers comfortable seating for 6. It's a great spot to cozy up with a book after a fun day in the city. A Bluetooth speaker, Smart-TV, and ample plugs for charging your devices add to the livability of the boat. Step down to the galley and dinette, equipped with everything you need to make a meal onboard: a two-burner induction cooktop, convection microwave/oven, toaster, small fridge, and plenty of glasses, crockery, cutlery, and pots and pans. The cooking basics such as salt, pepper, oil, sugar, tea, coffee, and a welcome bowl of snacks are also provided. The dinette table comfortably sits 4 and lowers to turn into an extra twin/full bed. Enter the private forward and aft staterooms made up with luxury linens, blankets, pillows, and duvets. Grab a fluffy towel before entering one of two bathrooms. Equipped with quiet and reliable heads (toilets), hot showers, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Central A/C and heat keep the boat comfortable no matter what the New England weather throws at you. Located in the oldest neighborhood in Boston, Charlestown, the boat is close to many popular Boston destinations: A 5-minute walk to the USS Constitution A 10-minute walk to the Bunker Hill Monument A 5-minute walk to the Freedom Trail A 15-minute walk to the North End (Ferry service available as well!) A 20-minute walk to Downtown and Faneuil Hall A 10-minute walk to the TD Garden A 20-minute Uber/Taxi ride to Fenway Park A 15-minute Water Taxi ride to Seaport Logan Airport is just a 10-15 minute Uber/Lyft/Taxi ride away, and a 20-30 minute Water Taxi ride away.
Other Details to Note
Is there wifi on board? Yes — wifi is included. Is the boat easy to get on, off, and around? Honest answer: it takes some agility. Boarding means a step from the dock across open water onto the boat, the stairs between decks are steep — closer to a ship's ladder than a staircase — and the boat moves under you. If you or anyone in your group has difficulty with stairs, balance, or stepping across a gap, a boat stay isn't the right fit, and we'd rather tell you now than have you find out at the dock. Does the boat have A/C and heat? Yes, central A/C and heat. Being a boat, insulation is minimal, but the systems keep up — the heat handles the most brutal New England cold, and in summer most guests skip the A/C and open the windows for the sea breeze. What are the bathrooms like? Both staterooms have private bathrooms with hot showers and marine toilets. They're compact — think RV, not hotel. The forward bath is a wet head (shower and toilet share the space); the aft has a separate but snug shower stall. Want more room? The marina bathhouse, a 2-minute walk away, has full-size showers, changing rooms, and paid laundry. Can we cook on board? Yes. The galley has a two-burner induction cooktop, convection oven/microwave, mini fridge, and all the cookware and dishes you'll need, plus a community grill at the marina for cookout nights. Is there parking nearby? Yes — marina parking is $28/day (first come, first served, no in-and-out), with garages nearby around $30/day. Most guests park once and don't touch the car again — everything's walkable or a short ride away, so we don't recommend renting a car. Can water taxis pick us up or drop us off? Yes. Water taxis run directly from Logan Airport to the marina, and from the boat to stops all around the harbor — it's the best way to arrive. Will there be enough room? Does the boat move? There's ample headroom in the cabin and the staterooms have real queen beds. And yes, the boat is on water, so there's a gentle rock — most guests find it puts them to sleep. But if you feel queasy just looking at boats, this probably isn't your stay, and we'd rather tell you that now.
